Also, since the second Roku 3 worked fine for a couple of weeks AFTER making sure all the software was up to date, I don't believe it's just the latest Roku Media Player app. I did not restart or change the DLNA server-just replaced the Roku and things are running fine again.īut what's with the playback on the Roku 3? With two of them doing the same thing so close together, I don't buy that they're just "breaking". So I went and got another Roku device that I have (not sure of the model, not important to this question), plugged it in, browsed to the DLNA server, and I'm watching my shows, no problem. Then, tonight, the replacement Roku 3 started doing the same thing. OK, so the first Roku 3 must have just gone bad, somehow, right? (By the way, other services like Amazon and the Roku channel have all continued to work fine, throughout.) I browsed to the DLNA server, picked videos and watched them. So I plugged it in, hooked it to the network, did all the system updates and added the Roku Media Player channel. Well, I had another Roku 3 sitting around, that I hadn't used in a while. The audio sounds like scratch static, and the video looks like it's jumping multiple frames at a time, like a choppy sort of fast-forward. In a while Ill conduct an experiment pulling a new file down from the Internet Archive to test and Ill provide the link that I used to download it. Suddenly, my Roku 3 started playing the videos back in a weird (completely unwatchable) way. The fact that I can play the same video on a mac running vlc connecting to the same dlna server would seem to indicate to me that the issue is with the roku media player. I've been using this arrangement to watch videos and movies from my DLNA server for over a year, with no problems. I may just need to bite that bullet and upgrade to DS220+ or something.I have a collection of videos on a DLNA server, which the Roku Media Player channel can browse and play. I know that my Synology box is old & underpowered. any suggestions of an alternative media player on Roku that can connect my Synology content on my DS212j? i'm more than willing to pay for something if it works. If the Roku Media Player had a better UI, i got tolerate it. no surprise, i guess.Įmby also looks reasonable but seemingly requires DSM 7 which is not supported on my DS212J Jellyfin seems like a reasonable alternative but apparently i can't install Docker on a DS212j. seems like i am likely to have much success with my underpowered DS212j, right? I can actually set up a Plex server but can't seem to connect to it from Roku or an iPad or any other client. limited sorting & organizing and presumably nothing that shows what has been watched or not. but what a primitive UI! titles get cut off. Roku Media Player connects easily to my VideoStation content. I know that the DS212j is pretty underpowered. reasonable UI that kept track of viewing & summaries. VideoStation & DS Video on Roku worked fairly well for me. Unfortunately, i am using VideoStation on an old DS212j. By default, Windows Media Player will share your. From there, you can configure which networks and devices have access to your content. Some swear by the Docker, I just use the app and am happy with it and really am only slightly comfortable with Docker so I only "play" with it.Īnyway, For my use case Plex is worlds better than any DLNA player I have ever tried. Simply open it, click on Stream, and Turn on media streaming. I use the native App not the docker and am happy. I run Plex on my DS920+ and it works great. The Roku app seems to be solid though in all fairness I haven't tried to use the Samsung TV app's in a long, long time so they may be better now. I was using the Samsung Smart TV app's and yes they work but kinda buggy. One thing I will say is use a Roku stick for accessing it. Once they added the TV tuner and I can record my shows in full HD I fully embraced it and switched over fully (I ran Emby and Plex side by side on the same data store for quite some time because I liked Embys UI a bit better, but in the end I settle on Plex). Even back then I think it was pretty good, but it has gotten better (yes there are things I would love to change). I just always preferred Roku since it wasn’t Amazon or Apple. I’ve stuck with Roku for a long time but my devices are getting old so switching to a new device platform isn’t out of the question. I especially don’t want to mess with docker. Are there any other Roku Channels that will work with Video Station? Really not interested in installing third party apps like Plex on my Synology. But what happened happened, so we now take a look at what Chrysler's stylists did in their failed attempt to try to save the DeSoto Airflow line back in the mid-1930s. To some eyes, including mine, they hold a certain charm despite some questionable styling details. Nowadays, with a large variety of vehicle types and shapes on streets and highways - in some cases strange and even ugly ones - Airflows in retrospect don't seem very odd. The link notes that the DeSoto Airflow had a significantly shorter wheelbase than its Chrysler cousins, creating a stubby look that might have been an additional factor (besides the radical basic shape) related to slow sales. The relevant Wikipedia entry is here, for readers interested in general information. Just bought my first Airflow, 1935 Desoto SG, and it needs some stuff but i dont know where to get parts. 1936/37 Chrysler-Desoto Airflow-Airstream Banjo Steering Wheel 1936/37 Chrysler-Desoto Airflow-Airstream Banjo Steering Wheel. Chrysler acted quickly, adding the conventional-looking Airstream design to its previously all-Airflow Chrysler and DeSoto brands for 1935. Our subject car is a CU model and is one of only 649 two-door CUs assembled that year. The total Airflow production reached 26K units over its four-year run but it was ultimately considered a less than successful undertaking. Most auto buffs are aware that the radical new design proved to be a marketing flop, as the above link mentions. Chrysler’s corporate cousin, DeSoto, pursued the same path between 19. The Wikipedia entry on the Chrysler Airflow is here. But the dynamic, engineering-oriented young Chrysler Corporation drastically accelerated the streamlining trend by introducing its wind tunnel tested Airflow design on its Chrysler and DeSoto brands for 1934. They would be built on existing Chrysler, DeSoto, Dodge or Plymouth chassis. In 1934, Chrysler and DeSoto incorporated these elements into a new model. In 1921, a Hungarian named Paul Jaray went so far as to apply for patents in Germany on a streamlined car called the Ley T6. RF 2M790J7DeSoto Airflow at automobile museum of Malaga, Spain. In 1937, the vehicle was taken off the market. The 1936 year saw only 6,285 Chrysler Airflow sales and 5,000 De Soto sales. The cheaper De Soto alternative sold 13,940 vehicles. Side valances had been added to fenders, grilles and windshields were slanted a few degrees backwards - not very much, in other words. To determine if a word is a verb or not, I would use a good dictionary REST API to help me out (there are many dictionary APIs out there).Įdit: If you are comfortable with Java, use Java. If you are new to programming I would recommend C# - it's modern, IMO easier than VBA and many others, and together with the 'OpenXML SDK' from Microsoft makes reading/parsing Word documents programmatically easy. Regex is standard for creating a sequence of characters that define a search pattern, you still need some sort of programming language to interpret results. And if I'm right and it's possible to acces it, how ? Maybe I'm wrong on how ms-Word works, maybe I'm right but there is no way to access this kind of data. based on how it's able to correct grammatical mistakes. I believe ms-Word has some ways to find whether a word is a verb, a noun, a plural, etc. There are some kind of recurrent mistakes that ms-Word doesn't see, but that I could easily/quickly check myself if I searched for every verbs (faster than having to reread the whole document).Įdit: of course I'm not sure if it is possible, but ms-Word seems to know this rather accuretly. I understand that sometimes it cannot determine whether a word is a noun or a verb, but that's not a problem if it's not 100% accurate.įor some context: I'm writing in french, and even though ms-Word finds a lot of mistakes, it doesn't find them all. Is there some sort of API I can use with ms-Word to find all verbs or accesing some kind of metadata/registry about words ? Or is there some kind of special regex I can use for this? I've also looked at this Checking whether a particular word is a noun or verb and I saw "using VBA". I've found that you can find all the "forms" of a particuliar verb (for example search "be", and word will find "be","am","are","was", etc.) but I need something more general: just find every verbs (and maybe their form). I'd like to know if it's possible to search for all verbs in a Microsoft Word document.
